Description

The Historical Museum of Liberation collects original documents, memorabilia, newspapers and posters, leaflets, writings and iconographic material relating to the Nazi-Fascist occupation of Rome and the struggle that earned the city of Rome the Gold Medal of Military Valour for the War of Liberation within the Italian Resistance during the Second World War. The Museum is located in the same premises as the building in Via Tasso which, during the Nazi-Fascist occupation of Rome, became sadly famous as a place of imprisonment and torture by the SS for over 2000 anti-fascists, many of whom were shot at Forte Bravetta and Fosse Ardeatine.
